Road Trip takes us from coast to coast, with beautiful views, memories of trips taken, desires to travel more, and of course you can't forget about the snacks eaten along the way.
Featuring 14 artists from across the country, Road Trip explores different approaches to a traditional landscape painting. While some take a more classic approach with unexpected pops, others lean into the abstract.
Sara Mulder from South Dakota and Alex Cole from Northern California are two of the highlighted artists in this show.
Sara painted a beautiful 9 piece collection that takes the viewer on a family road trip from the Pacific Northwest all the way to the Florida Keys. Her thick brush strokes and unexpected colors brings you into each scene, and you can't help but laugh at each title that brings back memories with classic road trip sayings.
Alex Cole paints scenes both real and remembered. Her work starts abstract in nature and landscapes form greatly influenced by he home in Northern California as well as her travels in the rolling hills of wine country. Her more muted palette is calming and soothing, offering a moment of quiet in the busyness of everyday life.
